Why using a friend or family member might not be the best idea for you:

• Buying or selling a home can be a stressful process and, in those times, you might be more comfortable expressing yourself if you aren’t dealing with friends/family.

• Realtors often know a lot about your personal financial situation that you may not want to have your friend/family know.

• If things go wrong in the transaction, it’s best to not have hard feelings with your friends/family.

• If you are concerned about hurting their feelings by not hiring them, the agent you hire can pay your friend/family member agent a referral fee, so they don’t feel left out or overlooked.
